How Jeremy Scott Is Pushing The Limits In Beauty And Fashion
The beauty and fashion industry has come such a long way. We’ve seen beauty and all of its standards changing throughout the years. Ideas of unnatural beauty enhancements and confining to styles that makes everyone look similar seems to have become a trend. Today designers, such as Jeremy Scott have begun working on pushing the boundaries of fashion, beauty, and ‘what’s cool” in today’s society. Jeremy Scott has started trends that other fashion houses are now implementing into their brand, this is one of the many reasons why Jeremy Scott is the Steve Jobs of fashion.
Jeremy Scott is just an ordinary dude from a small town with a very imaginative vision for the future of fashion. Jeremy started out interning and working for various fashion houses. He’s even moved overseas for a few years to study fashion and work in the industry. Upon his arrival back to the states he was asked to head a major fashion house, Moschino.
Moschino was in a place that was pretty stagnant for a while. In the 70’s that brand was edgy and hot, but by the 80’s and 90’s the brand was growing a different name for itself. Moschino was seen suddenly as a brand for moms, who were trying to be cool.
The spandex, big belts, and loud designs grew popular with beautiful hot moms everywhere. Soon the brand became laughable, because of who it catered to. When Jeremy was asked to design for the brand he was a perfect fit. His visions for fashion for the Moschino brand fit so well, and made great sense.
Jeremy is the first designer to put pop culture in fashion in ways that no other designers have considered. Jeremy uses social issues as well in fashion that’s something that takes his work to the next level. He played on America’s obsession with food and calories, and let that be the whole inspiration for his first line with that brand.
Critics hated the idea, but artist and true fashion bloggers, enthusiasts and fans loved the line. Jeremy has fun and adds issues that matter into his work. He’s recently designed a line that plays on McDonald’s advertising. Jeremy’s created accessories that mimics the chain included cell phone cases shaped like fries and shakes.
The cellphone cases were a huge success. Moschino has some of the most popular phone cases in the world.
Jeremy took his skill up a notch by designing for Adidas. Those signature wings sneakers were designed by Jeremy himself.
He’s also responsible for the teddy bear sneakers too! Talk about being innovative! Jeremy is paving the way and creating new ideas for so many brands.
