My Most Important New Year’s Beauty Resolution
My Top New Year’s Beauty Resolution For 2017
Happy New Year’s!!!! It’s finally 2017! You may be thinking about your New Year’s beauty resolution already. I know that I am. I came up with at least four things that I want to try, and get better at this year. Learning how to perfect your beauty regimen takes time. No one knows how to do everything right away. As this year begins here are a few things that I want to do, or at least start doing more of.
Stop Plucking My Eyebrows
I know some of you read this and think I’m probably out of my mind, but this is only temporary. Thing is I had this epiphany a few months back. Growing up I always had these thick brows. I decided to start getting my eyebrows plucked When I started high school and the rest has been down hill. I’ve had pencil eyebrows, weird eyebrows, and really thin eyebrows. Now we live in a time where women are either shaving their eyebrows to draw thick ones, or drawing their eyebrows to make them look thicker. After one last round of terrible tweezing I finally gave up. When I did, I realized some hairs growing back in faintly. After that I decided to stop plucking, threading, and waxing until they grew in fully. This doesn’t mean I don’t shade them in though. I have to do something until these things grow back, but the goal is to actually let them grow in fully before waxing again.
Learn How To Perfect Winged Eyeliner
I’m sure I’m not the only one waiting for Adele’s tutorial on how to master winged eyeliner. Until then I need to figure out a technique that works for me. This is something that I’m mediocre at. I can do a decent job, but it takes forever for me to achieve this look. I want to get so good that I can start doing it with my eyes closed. That may not be the best idea, but you know what I’m talking about. There’s something about winged eyeliner that’s just everything to me. This look accentuates your eyes in a way that regular lining doesn’t cut. I’ve managed to do a great job with eyeshadows and crease cutting. Now that I’ve gotten that I’m ready to move on to winging my eyes to perfection. After that I may go on to more advanced techniques. Until then I need to master the basics, so this is a must do on my list.
Take Better Care Of My Skin
Skin is in. It’s always in and there’s no good reason to not take care of it. I’ve been on a pretty good skin journey so far within this past year. It’s a lot clearer than it’s ever been and I want to take it to the next level. This year I’m determined to try out different mask to exfoliate my skin. Having combination skin means you have to do a combination of things to keep it healthy. I’ve gotten the acne part under control now it’s time to hit those pores. You know the ones that get clogged around your t-zone and nose? Those need special attention. My skin goals overall include me getting my skin to a point where I don’t feel the need to always wear makeup. I think the best skin correctors aren’t sold in the makeup aisles. They’re in the skin care sections. Creating a daily routine for your hair is the key to making it unbelievably healthy. The same rules apply for your skin as well. I know I mentioned my face in most of this resolution, but total body skin care is what I’m really going for. Yes, I’m going to try more ways to clear my facial pores and to achieve healthy glowing skin all over.
Drink More Water
Water is the oldest beauty secret out here. It’s so old that shouldn’t even be a secret, yet it’s so easy to forgot about the benefits. Drinking a lot of water everyday is the best way to gain results in any beauty journey you have. Drinking water helps you lose weight, clear and soften your skin, help your hair retain moisture, and even helps aid some illnesses. The powers of drinking water are amazing. My goal is to start off with the minimum requirements of at least 8 glasses of 8oz of water daily. This now being called the 8×8 rule, which is helpful in case you forgot how much water should be consumed in a day. The technique that usually works for me to achieve this goal is adding lemon to my water. I don’t need to do this anymore, but it’s a good tip for anyone struggling with drinking more water. I usually get on track with this regime and then get off of it when I’m craving something sweet to drink. My plan for 2017 is for water to always be my number one choice of drink.
