Give Me 10 Minutes, I’ll Give You The Truth About Trust
Trusting God on the Field Trip
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Isn’t it super easy to trust God in the classroom? I mean…we can read our bible, have great prayer time, and then BAM! God picks us to go on a field trip with Him. It’s a whole ‘nother thing to be asked to live out what we read and say. It’s a sure-fire way to find out what we really believe.
“I’ll do anything you want God”
“I want to live for you Jesus – totally surrendered. Yes, I’m your girl.”
“You want me to do what?”
To trust God when we don’t understand is hard. To trust God when we’re scared out of our minds is hard. Taking those first steps of obedience in an unfamiliar season He is calling us to is hard. But you know what? We can do hard things. Yes, beautiful one, you can.
Here are a few things to remember:
- God is with you. He is there to help you take the baby steps needed in your obedience.
- Trusting God is a foundation building thing in our lives. If we don’t trust God with what He is doing today, we won’t be prepared for the next season. He is such a good, good Father. He knows that through our obedience, we will build trust with Him.
- Trust comes down to this: Trust is our decision to leave the decision in God’s hands.
God loves you. God is for you. God is with you. God has a responsibility as our Father to grow us. Sometimes that means letting Him close enough to pull the band-aid off so He can heal us.
